SWAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said that nobody should expect the party to respect verdicts that are based on vengeance.
“We respect the courts but do not expect us to respect verdicts with motives of revenge. Institutions exert their entire authority on us, while Pervaiz Musharraf shows them a fist and roams free,” Maryam said while speaking at a PML-N power-show in Swat.
Taking jabs at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and party-led Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, Maryam questioned that ‘where was Imran and PTI leaders when KP was affected by floods and dengue?”.
She also criticised the appointment of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. “Imran Khan keeps on creating new conspiracies against Nawaz Sharif. Don’t you think whatever happened during the Senate elections is an insult of the constitution?,” she said.
Continuing her address, Maryam praised the people of Swat for gathering at the rally area and supporting the cause of PML-N. She added that since PML-N took over, Swat has become peaceful and prosperous.
