Shahid Afridi wins massive applause from across the border for respecting the Indian flag

Published on: February 12, 2018 6:31 PM

Sportsmen have their own charm, especially when we talk about ‘Lala’, who is always at the top of his game. Lala aka Shahid Afridi has an incomparable personality, and it is an honour and a delight that men such as him represent our country.

While meeting with his fans on the sidelines of the St. Moritz Cricket Tournament as part of a host of former cricketers who took part in the inaugural event which concluded on Saturday, the 10th of February, Afridi was seen asking a fan to hold the Indian flag properly.

He was quoted as saying, “Flag seedha karo apna (meaning, ‘straighten the flag’).”

This is not the first time Afridi has respected a flag; in the same video, he can be seen fixing the placement of a Pakistani flag as well.

Pakistani cricket legend, Shahid Afridi asks his Indian fan to unfold her flag and then poses happily for a photo with her. Little actions like these, bring the world closer and promote love and peace on the planet! Proud of you @SAfridiOfficial ❤️ 🇮🇳 🇵🇰 ✌️ 🌍 pic.twitter.com/kTGA3xk86D

@SAfridiOfficial is a legend…Most if the cricketers from India and Pakistan share an extremely cordial relationship with each other…Most of the banter is limited to Twitter only 😂

Exhibiting ample example of his sportsmanship, this lovely gesture of his has not only won hearts across the border but also managed to win the hearts of thousands of his fellow countrymen as well.

Sportsman, Shahid Afridi, has time and again talked about the amount of love he has received from India and has been seen on the field having fun with his friends from the Indian cricket team.

Keeping the smallest of gestures forever close to his heart, Afridi just showed everyone how we all need to be better human beings despite the hot and cold political relationships between both the countries.
