GWADAR: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was turning into reality and it would change the fate of the region.
He was addressing an inauguration ceremony of the free trade zone and first-ever international expo in Gawader.
The prime minister said that the free zone would facilitate trade with other parts of the world, especially with Central Asian states.
“CPEC is a precious gift for Pakistani people from Chinese President Xi Jinping,” said the prime minister, adding it is the most important initiative of our generation. It will also help Pakistan to overcome its energy crisis.
Moreover, PM Abbasi stressed that political stability was needed for the completion of the development projects.
Several foreign personalities, members of the diplomatic community and businessmen from all over the world would take part in the two-day expo, organised jointly by Gwadar Development Authority and China Overseas Ports Holding Company.
