Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir inaugurated the Sky47 data centre, Karakoram-01, in Islamabad on Friday. The facility is designed to strengthen Pakistan’s cloud computing, data hosting, and digital infrastructure.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister said the Sky47 project would provide Pakistan with “impregnable security.” He described the initiative as an important milestone for the country’s technological future.

According to officials, Karakoram-01 will support cloud computing, data hosting, and a range of digital services. The project is expected to enhance secure domestic digital infrastructure for both public and private sectors.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz said projects such as Sky47 would help prepare Pakistan for future technological challenges. He stressed that innovation and digital transformation are essential for sustainable national development.

Moreover, the prime minister said major achievements become possible when challenges are met with determination and hope. He referred to Marka-e-Haq as an example of overcoming difficult circumstances through national resolve.
