Gen Aamer Raza promoted to lead National Strategic Command

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday promoted Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, the Pakistan Army’s Chief of the General Staff, to the rank of Four-Star General. Alongside the promotion, the prime minister appointed him as the Commander of the National Strategic Command. The decision marks a significant development in Pakistan’s military leadership and strategic command structure.

The Prime Minister’s Office announced the promotion and appointment in an official statement issued in Islamabad. General Aamer Raza, who has served as the Chief of the General Staff, will now take charge of one of the country’s most important strategic responsibilities. His elevation reflects the government’s confidence in his leadership and professional experience.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated General Aamer Raza on achieving the rank of Four-Star General and praised his dedication to national service.
