Although the team narrowly missed a place in the World Cup final, the players are still expected to receive recognition for reaching the last four of the competition. Reports suggest Prince William and Princess Catherine could welcome the squad to the palace for a private event celebrating their impressive tournament campaign.
Following England’s 2-1 semifinal defeat, Prince William praised the players in a personal message, encouraging them to keep their heads high and describing them as one of England’s strongest tournament teams. King Charles III also commended the squad, saying the Three Lions remained a source of pride for the nation despite the disappointing result.
