Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday discussed the current situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

The PPP Chairman called on the deputy prime minister here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the DPM/FM congratulated Bilawal Bhutto on forming the government in GB, and the latter thanked the deputy prime minister for all the support of PML-N in the induction of an elected government in GB, a DPM’s Office news release said.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of holding free, fair, and transparent forthcoming general elections in AJK.

Earlier, PPP leaders from Gilgit-Baltistan called on Bilawal and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan to discuss the province’s development, public issues, and administrative affairs, with particular focus on District Astore.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the trust reposed by the people of Astore in the Pakistan Peoples Party is of utmost importance to the party.

He assured that the PPP government would take all possible measures to promote the development of Astore, improve public welfare, and resolve the district’s key issues.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also directed Syed Abbas Mousavi to approach the Election Tribunal regarding the election results of Constituency GBA-14 (Astore).

He stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party would defend its position through constitutional and legal means and would utilize all available legal avenues to ensure justice.
