The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has installed the advanced TruMan 3 bowling machine at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), introducing a new training tool designed to provide batters with a realistic match-like practice experience.

According to the PCB, the state-of-the-art bowling machine is aimed at improving players’ preparation by replicating real-game conditions. Unlike conventional bowling machines, the TruMan 3 features a high-contrast LED animation on its front screen that displays the bowler’s action before the ball is delivered. This allows batters to observe the bowler’s movement, release point, and timing, making practice sessions more realistic and effective.

The machine offers a wide range of customizable settings, enabling coaches to adjust line, length, speed, swing, bounce, and delivery height according to specific training requirements. It also allows coaches and players to save individual deliveries, overs, and bowling spells, which can later be replayed to recreate different match scenarios during practice sessions.

PCB Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed said the TruMan 3 represents the latest cricket training technology and noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board is the first cricket board to introduce the machine. He explained that traditional bowling machines often make it difficult for batters to judge the release point, whereas the TruMan 3 enables players to watch the bowler’s action before facing the delivery, helping them improve their anticipation and timing.

Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha also welcomed the addition of the technology, saying it would help players prepare for the demands of modern cricket. He noted that because the ball is delivered alongside the simulated bowling action, batters must react with match-like timing, making practice sessions more realistic. Salman added that the technology is expected to play an important role in improving batting standards and will benefit players further as they continue to use it in future training camps.
