
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul for an official Shehbaz Sharif Türkiye visit at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister during the visit.
Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed at the airport by Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Professor Dr. Ömer Bolat. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, along with officials from Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present to receive the delegation.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan will hold detailed discussions on all aspects of bilateral relations. The talks will focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, information technology, and other sectors. The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional peace and security.
During the visit, the prime minister will address a business conference in Istanbul, where investment opportunities in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, IT, privatization, and other sectors will be presented to Turkish business leaders, investors, and senior government officials.
Before the Shehbaz Sharif Türkiye visit, the prime minister traveled to Tehran to attend a condolence gathering in honor of Iran’s late Supreme Leader. He led a high-level Pakistani delegation that included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other senior officials. During the ceremony, the delegation offered prayers and paid tribute to the late leader’s decades of leadership and service to the Iranian nation.
