Naqvi reaffirms strong Pakistan-Saudi partnership

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz in Jeddah on Friday. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and enhancing collaboration across multiple sectors.

According to an official statement, Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Taif Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, and members of the Saudi royal family also attended the meeting. Naqvi said Pakistan highly values its historic and brotherly relationship with the Kingdom. He added that Islamabad remains committed to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The interior minister thanked Saudi authorities for the arrangements made for Pakistani Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. He praised the facilities and services provided to pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage season. In response, Prince Saud bin Mishaal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and assured Pakistan of continued cooperation.

The meeting also highlighted growing cooperation in sports between the two countries. Prince Saud welcomed the recent agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation. He described the partnership as an important step toward promoting cricket in the Kingdom and expanding sporting ties.

Additionally, the acting governor appreciated plans to build Jeddah’s first international-standard cricket stadium. He assured Saudi authorities’ full support for the project and cooperation with the Pakistan Cricket Board during its development. Both sides agreed that stronger collaboration in religious, sporting, and strategic sectors would further deepen Pakistan-Saudi relations.
