The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified its investigation into an alleged human organ smuggling network uncovered in Islamabad, with authorities conducting raids in multiple cities to arrest more suspects. Officials believe the operation involved a well-organised group working across different locations, and investigations are continuing to identify everyone allegedly connected to the case.
FIA Director Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari said five suspects have been arrested so far, adding that the agency is determined to take the investigation to its logical conclusion. According to investigators, the alleged network included agents, foreign nationals and staff from small hospitals who reportedly worked together in the illegal operation.
During the investigation, the FIA alleged that human placenta was used in the production of collagen injections and skin pills, while human organs were allegedly packaged and smuggled to Vietnam. Officials said evidence supporting these allegations was collected during raids carried out at two locations in Islamabad as part of the ongoing operation.
Meanwhile, investigators have also conducted successful raids in Lahore, Peshawar and Rawalpindi to trace other individuals suspected of involvement in the alleged network. The FIA confirmed that further operations are underway to arrest additional suspects, while clarifying that no doctor has been taken into custody at this stage of the investigation.
Bukhari described the case as more than a corruption investigation, saying it also concerns the violation of human dignity and respect for the human body. The FIA has pledged to expose the entire alleged network and continue operations until all those believed to be involved are brought before the law.
