Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Inspector General of Police Liaqat Ali Malik has said that false propaganda about Kashmir situation is being spread by disruptive elements to mislead the public. Speaking at a press conference in Muzaffarabad, he said certain groups are attempting to create confusion through misleading information and fabricated narratives.
The police chief stated that modern technology, including artificial intelligence, is being used to generate new narratives and spread misinformation. He said some reports circulating about the situation in AJK are baseless and do not reflect the facts on the ground.
Liaqat Ali Malik also criticized a foreign media outlet for publishing what he described as inaccurate allegations. He rejected claims that authorities had stopped vehicles carrying food supplies, calling such reports unfounded and contrary to reality.
According to the IG, members of a banned organization have been involved in blocking roads, looting vehicles carrying essential goods, and assaulting drivers. He said these activities have caused disruptions in certain areas and created difficulties for local residents.
The AJK police chief emphasized that the police force remains committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens. He added that, except for a few areas in Rawalakot, all major routes across the region remain open. He urged the public not to believe unverified reports and warned against the spread of false propaganda about Kashmir situation.
