Andrew sparks royal tension with France trip controversy

Published on: June 22, 2026 6:18 PM

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has once again drawn attention after a controversial foreign trip that has reportedly created fresh discomfort for his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The visit comes at a sensitive time for the royal family, as scrutiny around his legal and public standing continues.

According to reports, Andrew travelled to rural Brittany in north-west France for a short stay between May 30 and June 1. He stayed as a guest of sportswear billionaire Mohammed A Baker and reportedly enjoyed a private holiday away from public attention.

During the trip, Andrew engaged in leisure activities including horse riding, playing boules, and dining with a private chef. As a result, the relaxed nature of the visit has raised questions due to ongoing concerns and investigations linked to his public conduct.

However, the timing of the trip has attracted further attention after he was later seen with a visible facial bruise during a car ride near Norfolk. This image added to speculation and intensified media scrutiny surrounding his recent movements and public appearances.

Meanwhile, sources suggest that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been trying to maintain a low public profile amid ongoing developments involving their father. The latest overseas trip has reportedly created additional pressure on the sisters as they manage public perception and family challenges.

Overall, the incident adds another layer of tension within the royal family, especially as it coincides with broader royal developments and heightened media focus on senior family members. Observers say the situation continues to evolve as scrutiny around Andrew remains active.
