Naqvi, Memon agree on federal-provincial coordination to tackle national issues

Published on: June 5, 2026 3:26 AM

During the meeting, a range of important issues were discussed, including national law and order, inter-provincial cooperation, eradication of narcotics, and the improvement of public services. The two leaders also held detailed discussions on measures to curb drug trafficking and strengthen law and order in major cities of Sindh, including Karachi.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the Sindh government on the successful operations conducted against dacoits and criminal elements in the riverine areas. He stated that the Sindh Police had played a commendable role in restoring law and order by demonstrating bravery, professionalism, and determination under challenging circumstances. He further assured that the federal government would extend all possible support for maintaining law and order and combating narcotics.

During the meeting, Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that effective coordination and cooperation between the federation and the provinces remain the most effective way to address national challenges.

He said that all institutions and governments must work together in matters of national importance, adding that the Sindh government would further intensify its efforts to eliminate crime, strengthen law and order, and ensure the protection of citizens.

Both ministers agreed that stronger cooperation and coordination between the federal and Sindh governments would help address public issues more effectively and promote better governance and service delivery.
