LPG prices rise for June

Pakistan cuts LPG prices by 1.88% for June

Consumers across Pakistan will face higher cooking fuel costs this month after the country’s oil and gas regulator approved an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for June.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs4.95 per kilogram, resulting in a rise in the cost of domestic cylinders used by households nationwide.

Under the revised rates, the price of LPG has been fixed at Rs308.76 per kilogram. As a result, the cost of a standard 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder has increased by Rs58.51, taking its new price to Rs3,643.41.

The new prices came into effect from June 1 and will remain applicable throughout the month unless revised by the regulator.

LPG is widely used across Pakistan, particularly in areas where access to natural gas is limited or unavailable. The fuel serves as a primary source of energy for cooking and heating in many households, making price changes significant for domestic consumers.

The latest increase is expected to add to household expenses at a time when consumers are already managing higher costs of essential goods and services. Businesses that rely on LPG, including restaurants, small industries and commercial users, may also experience an increase in operating costs.

Market observers note that LPG prices are generally influenced by fluctuations in international energy markets, exchange rates and local supply-demand conditions. Monthly adjustments are made by the regulator based on pricing formulas and prevailing market factors.

The increase in LPG prices comes ahead of the new fiscal year and is likely to impact household budgets, especially for low- and middle-income families that depend heavily on the fuel for daily use.

Consumers and industry stakeholders will continue to monitor future price revisions as energy costs remain a key concern for households and businesses across the country.
