Reports emerge of discontent among PTI lawmakers in KP

Reports of anti-CM PTI bloc in K-P rejected

Reports of dissatisfaction within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ranks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have surfaced, with sources claiming that more than 20 provincial assembly members have expressed concerns over the performance of the provincial government and its leadership.

According to sources, a number of PTI lawmakers are unhappy with the province’s governance and law-and-order situation. They reportedly believe that administrative challenges have increased and that the government has struggled to effectively address key issues facing the province.

The dissatisfied members are also said to have concerns regarding the provincial bureaucracy. According to the claims, some lawmakers feel that government directives are not being implemented effectively and that bureaucratic matters are creating hurdles in governance and service delivery.

Sources further suggest that concerns have been raised over the distribution of development funds and delays in the expansion of the provincial cabinet. Some legislators reportedly believe that resources have not been allocated fairly among constituencies and that their reservations have not been adequately addressed despite repeated discussions with the provincial leadership.

Political insiders indicate that a meeting of the concerned lawmakers may be convened in the near future to discuss their grievances and formulate a collective strategy regarding their future course of action.

However, the provincial government has strongly rejected reports of internal divisions within the party. Responding to the claims, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafee Jan described reports of groupings among PTI lawmakers as false, fabricated, and baseless.

He maintained that all PTI members of the provincial assembly remain united under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and are committed to advancing the party’s agenda in the province. The minister also stated that the chief minister continues to enjoy the complete confidence of the party’s founding leadership.

The development comes amid heightened political activity in the province, where the PTI-led government continues to face challenges related to governance, security, and economic management.

While reports of dissatisfaction have attracted political attention, no formal announcement has been made by any group of lawmakers regarding the formation of a separate bloc or collective action against the provincial leadership.
