At least five young people lost their lives and three others were injured when a loader rickshaw plunged into a ravine in the Haveli Kahuta area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Friday after its brakes reportedly failed.
According to details, local police said the accident occurred in Khurshidabad Tehsil of Haveli Kahuta, where a vehicle met with a fatal crash, resulting in multiple casualties.
Two of the deceased were identified as Idrees, son of Inayat, resident of Jokan and Bilal, son of Iftikhar, resident of Jokan Gangi Gali, while efforts were underway to confirm the identity of other victims, private news channel reported.
All the injured and deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident, where emergency medical treatment was provided.
Later, the bodies were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Haveli Kahuta for further procedures, while the injured continued to receive care. The tragic news spread quickly across the area, leaving residents in deep grief and sorrow.
