Published on: May 28, 2026 12:35 PM

President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan’s defence strategy guarantees peace and stability across the region on Youm-e-Takbeer. He described Pakistan as a responsible and peace-loving nuclear state committed to protecting national sovereignty. His message highlighted the importance of strategic strength amid evolving regional and global security challenges.

In his statement, President Zardari called Youm-e-Takbeer a symbol of Pakistan’s invincible defence capabilities and national determination. He said the nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998 granted Pakistan strategic independence and strengthened national security. According to him, the nuclear programme was launched to meet the country’s defence and sovereignty requirements.

Furthermore, Zardari stated that Pakistan successfully safeguarded its national interests during difficult global circumstances.

President Zardari also stressed the changing nature of warfare in the modern world. He said cyber warfare, artificial intelligence, and drone technology would play increasingly important roles in future conflicts. Therefore, he emphasized the need for Pakistan to remain technologically advanced and strategically prepared against emerging threats.
