Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson has said that the upcoming ODI series against Australia is of great significance for the national team, and the team management is focused on building a balanced and strong combination ahead of the next World Cup.
Speaking to media at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Hesson said the national side had made progress on several fronts in white-ball cricket recently. He added that the series against a strong team like Australia would provide an excellent opportunity for players to further sharpen their skills.
Hesson stated that the management aims to form a strong team combining young and experienced players capable of delivering consistent performances in future global tournaments.
He noted that effective bowling in the powerplay, better strategy in the middle overs, and aggressive yet responsible batting are essential requirements of modern ODI cricket.
The head coach praised the players’ fitness, discipline, and hard work in training sessions, saying there is a positive environment within the squad.
He added that senior players are actively mentoring the younger cricketers, which is boosting the team’s overall confidence.
Hesson also said that the enthusiasm of cricket fans at stadiums across the country, including Rawalpindi, serves as a strong source of motivation for the players. The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia will begin on May 30. The first match will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with the remaining two matches scheduled in Lahore.
