Chairman Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) and member of the Asian Taekwondo Union, Colonel (R) Waseem Ahmad Janjua represented Pakistan at the General Council Executive Committee meeting of 35 countries held in Mongolia, where he highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in promoting sports and youth development at the international level.
Addressing the global gathering, Janjua said Pakistan was taking practical steps for the promotion of taekwondo and other sports while providing international exposure and opportunities to young athletes.
He informed the meeting that preparations for the President Cup, scheduled to be held in Lahore from August 13 to 20, had entered the final phase, adding that the event would further project Pakistan’s positive image in the international sports community. The PTF chairman said Pakistan would continue playing an active and constructive role in the promotion of sports worldwide and stressed the importance of international cooperation to strengthen sporting ties among different countries. He expressed hope that such global forums would help encourage emerging talent and open new avenues for athletes at both regional and international levels.
