Hot, dry weather to persist across country

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country during the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

While southern regions are likely to experience very hot conditions during daytime.

The Met Office said that windstorms accompanied by rain and thunderstorms are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

In Islamabad, hot weather is expected during the daytime, while rain-windstorms, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms may occur in the evening and night hours.

According to the forecast, partly cloudy weather is likely over most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain-windstorms and thunderstorms, accompanied by isolated hailstorms and heavy falls, are expected at isolated places in Dir, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Bajaur, Kalam, Chitral, Buner, Kohat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Parachinar, Kurram and Waziristan.

In Punjab, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts, while partly cloudy conditions with windstorms and thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Khushab and surrounding areas.

The Met Office said Sindh would remain mainly hot and dry, with very hot conditions likely in upper districts. Similar weather is expected in Balochistan, where southern districts are likely to remain very hot.

In Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms is expected, while isolated hailstorms and heavy falls may also occur. Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to witness cloudy weather with intermittent rain and thunderstorms.
