Karachi courts grant SIU remand of drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky

A local court in Karachi has sent alleged drug kingpin Anmol alias Pinky to jail on judicial remand in multiple criminal cases after her appearance before the court following the completion of physical remand in a murder case.

The suspect, widely referred to as a “drug queenpin” by investigators, was produced before the court in connection with 18 separate cases, including allegations related to narcotics trafficking and murder. The court directed investigation officers to submit challans in the cases and ordered that Pinky remain in judicial custody.

According to police, Pinky was arrested on May 12 during a joint raid conducted in Karachi’s Garden area. Authorities claimed they recovered weapons, cocaine and other narcotics worth approximately Rs1.5 million from her apartment. Investigators alleged she was operating an organised drug supply network in the city.

However, Pinky denied the accusations and claimed she had been detained in Lahore days before being transferred to Karachi.

The case gained public attention after a video surfaced showing the suspect being brought to court without handcuffs and allegedly receiving special treatment. Following the incident, Karachi Additional Inspector General Azad Khan confirmed that action had been taken against officers accused of negligence during her court appearance.

During the investigation, Pinky allegedly disclosed that she paid large monthly bribes to various police stations in Karachi and claimed the narcotics trade generated more than Rs20 million each month, according to sources.

Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said authorities were expanding the investigation and forming a task force to dismantle the wider network, warning that more prominent names could surface during the probe.
