Iran, US negotiations reach decisive final stage

Published on: May 20, 2026 9:30 PM

Reports say the draft of a possible agreement between Iran and United States has reached its final stage. Arab media sources said the announcement of the deal may come soon. Moreover, efforts continue to finalize remaining details between both sides. Officials described the progress as significant and sensitive. However, no official confirmation has been issued yet.

According to reports, a key Pakistani figure may visit Iran within the next day. Furthermore, the visit could coincide with an announcement on the completed draft agreement. Sources said this development may play a role in regional diplomatic coordination. In addition, discussions are expected to continue through indirect channels. The situation remains closely monitored by international observers.

Arab media also reported that the next round of talks may take place in Islamabad after the Hajj season. Moreover, this suggests continued diplomatic engagement in the coming months. Officials believe Pakistan could host future negotiation sessions. Meanwhile, preparations for regional dialogue are being discussed quietly. However, details of the agenda remain undisclosed.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Tehran twice within 24 hours. Moreover, he held meetings with Iranian leadership regarding US-Iran discussions. These visits highlighted Pakistan’s growing diplomatic involvement. In addition, he previously met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and senior officials. Officials said the talks focused on regional peace efforts.

Finally, Naqvi also returned to Pakistan and visited Balochistan after his Tehran trips. Moreover, he met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military leadership. These engagements reflect ongoing high-level diplomatic activity. Meanwhile, regional tensions and negotiations continue simultaneously. The final outcome of the US-Iran deal remains uncertain but closely watched.
