PSX loses over 952 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 952.30 points, a negative change of 0.57 percent, closing at 166,498.84 points against 167,451.14 points on the last trading day, according to PSX data. During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 706.019 million shares with a traded value of Rs 19.921 billion, compared to 684.901 million shares valuing Rs 21.740 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization declined to Rs18.475 trillion from Rs18.570 trillion a day earlier.

Out of 484 active companies in the ready market, 155 advanced, 293 declined, and 36 remained unchanged.

Bunnys Limited topped the volume chart with 115.352 million shares, followed by Trust Brokerage with 62.760 million shares and Treet Battery Limited with 56.827 million shares. The top gainers included PIA Holding Company Limited B, which increased by Rs 119.47 to close at Rs 18,797.00, and Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited, which gained Rs 119.04 to settle at Rs 1,309.47.

On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 239.83 to close at Rs 26,000.50, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs 20.97 to close at Rs 1,564.03. In the futures market, 318 companies traded, of which 68 recorded gains, 247 declined, and 3 remained unchanged, according to PSX data.
