Carrie Underwood wants to uh-uh-undo the rumors about a feud between her and Nikki Glaser.
A little over a week after rumors began to swirl about supposed tension between the “All-American Girl” singer and the comedian after they shared the judge’s panel for American Idol’s Taylor Swift night, Carrie admitted she’s “very used” to the negative commentary.
“I feel like if you have two ladies in the same room together, someone is going to try to make a big thing out of it,” she explained during a May 6 interview with SiriusXM. “She was wonderful. I think she did such a great job ’cause it’s not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say.” The 43-year-old assured, “There’s no beef-I have no beef.”
Nevertheless, eagle-eyed Idol fans didn’t hold back from commenting on supposed slights during the April 27 episode. As one fan wrote in a Reddit thread during the broadcast, “Carrie cannot standddd Nikki lol.” Of course, Nikki and Carrie had already assured they were blown away by each other. “Had a fun night with the beautiful and hilarious @nikkiglaser joining us as a guest judge tonight on American Idol,” Carrie mused in an April 27 Instagram post, to which Nikki responded in the comments, “Thank you for being so kind and cool! A true dream sitting next to you!”
The rumor mill is just one reason why Carrie has stepped away from Hollywood in the last few years. Earlier this year, the “Undo It” singer shared insight into her and husband Mike Fisher moving their sons Isaiah, 11, and Jacob, 7, to Tennessee for “real life.”
“It’s so wonderful,” Carrie said during a March interview with SiriusXM’s Front Row. “I love performing. I love singing. I love writing. I love being creative. Singing is definitely one of my happy places, but the world that that takes you to is just not real. More than anything, for my family, I want them to know that.
