Spokesman to the Sindh Government and Mayor of Sukkur, Barrister Arslan Sheikh, on Sunday congratulated the nation on the completion of one year since the success of Marka-e-Haq, calling it a defining moment that strengthened Pakistan’s prestige and defence.

In a statement, Arslan paid rich tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their leadership. He also paid homage to the sacrifices of martyrs and security forces.

“On May 10, 2025, the armed forces of Pakistan crushed the enemy’s arrogance,” he said, adding that Marka-e-Haq was a “shining example of national unity, military strength, and public resolve.” He said the operation had become a symbol of the victory of truth, righteousness, and national sovereignty, and demonstrated the mutual trust between the people and state institutions. “The nation demonstrated unity, courage, and solidarity in every difficult hour,” he added.

The Mayor of Sukkur also lauded PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying his diplomacy had effectively highlighted Pakistan’s stance at the global level. He offered prayers for a bright, stable and prosperous future for the country.

Sukkur IBA University on Sunday concluded its week-long commemoration of Marka-e-Haq, Inspiring the Nation with a spirited Campus Rally organized to celebrate Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq and reaffirm the values of unity, patriotism, and national solidarity. The rally brought together faculty members, administrative staff, and students in a collective expression of commitment to the enduring principles of courage, sacrifice, and resilience associated with Marka-e-Haq.

The event began with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Central Cafeteria, attended by university leadership, Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors, faculty, staff, and students, creating a strong patriotic atmosphere across the campus. It was followed by cake cutting and a campus rally from the Cafeteria to Zero Point, where participants carried national flags and raised patriotic slogans, symbolizing unity, pride, and a collective commitment to national values and harmony.

Prof Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, emphasized the importance of patriotism, discipline, and social responsibility among youth. He appreciated the active participation of students, faculty, and staff throughout the commemorative week and paid rich tribute to the bravery, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in defending the country’s sovereignty and ensuring national peace and stability. He stated that the Marka-e-Haq activities provided students with a meaningful platform to reflect on the values of unity, resilience, sacrifice, and national service that continue to inspire the nation.

Prof Dr Mir Muhammad Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Main Campus), paid tribute to the bravery, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of the Pakistani Armed Forces in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the country. He stated that Marka-e-Haq stands as a symbol of national unity and resilience, inspiring the younger generation to remain steadfast in their love, respect, and support for the armed forces and the nation.

The Marka-e-Haq commemorative week at Sukkur IBA University ended with a solemn visit to the grave of Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, Founding Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, where the University leadership and students collectively paid tribute and reflected on his enduring legacy of academic excellence, visionary leadership, and institutional development.
