German Embassy closes visa section for two days

Published on: April 20, 2026 10:39 AM

German Ambassador to Pakistan Ina Lepel has announced that visa offices at the German Embassy in Islamabad will remain closed from April 20 till April 21. The decision comes amid heightened security in the federal capital as the second round of US-Iran talks is expected to take place in Islamabad next week.

Applicants have been advised not to appear for scheduled appointments, with embassy officials confirming that all affected bookings will be rescheduled accordingly.

Australian High Commission closed for two days

The Australian High Commission in Islamabad will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday, April 20 and 21, High Commissioner Timothy Kane said in a post on X.

The high commission will reopen on April 22 (Wednesday) at 8am, he added.

Meanwhile, the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan has ordered that no judicial work shall be conducted on April 20 amid the closure of Red Zone, Islamabad, a notification said.

According to the notification, “On account of closure of the Red Zone in Islamabad as well as keeping in view the difficulties to be faced by lawyers, litigants and the officers/officials of the court to attend the court, the chief justice, Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, in exercise of powers conferred under Rule 5 of Order II of the Supreme Court Rules 2025, has been pleased to order that no judicial work shall be conducted on April 20, 2026 (Monday) at the principal seat of the court at Islamabad.”
