Azma Bukhari slams Fiza Ali over viral TV stunt

Azma Bukhari criticises Fiza Ali over viral video stunt

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has strongly criticised actress and host Fiza Ali over a viral video that has sparked widespread debate on social media.

The controversy erupted after a clip circulated online showing Fiza Ali performing what many viewers described as an inappropriate on-air stunt alongside her husband. In the video, she asks her husband to lift her, after which he carries her on his shoulders during the show, creating an awkward moment that quickly drew public attention.

Reacting to the footage, Azma Bukhari termed the incident “regrettable” and raised concerns over ethical standards in television programming. She questioned how such content was allowed to be aired, suggesting that it could have been edited out or stopped before broadcast.

The minister also indicated that the matter may be taken up by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), which oversees content standards in the country’s broadcast media.

Highlighting broader concerns, Bukhari pointed out that the act was performed on camera in the presence of a young child, adding that personal expressions of happiness should not cross boundaries that could be considered inappropriate for public viewing.

She further alleged that the content may have been deliberately aired to boost television ratings, claiming that Fiza Ali has previously pushed limits for viewership gains. Bukhari expressed disappointment over the incident and called for greater responsibility in media content production.

The video has triggered mixed reactions online, with some users criticising the stunt as inappropriate while others defending it as harmless entertainment.
