Farhan’s century powers Sultans’ thrilling chase

Published on: April 2, 2026 10:32 PM

Sahibzada Farhan struck an unbeaten century as Multan Sultans chased down 226 to beat Hyderabad Kingsmen. The win matters as Sultans maintain their perfect start, boosting confidence and PSL title hopes. Players, fans, and tournament standings were directly impacted by this thrilling performance.

Farhan scored 106 not out off 57 balls, including eight sixes and seven fours, sealing victory with a towering six. Steven Smith supported with a strong start, helping the pair add a century stand in just 7.1 overs. Their early dominance ensured the required rate stayed under control throughout the chase.

Kingsmen had earlier posted 225, powered by Maaz Sadaqat’s 62 off 26 balls and Sharjeel Khan’s 51 off 26 deliveries. Openers Saim Ayub and Sadaqat gave a flying start, while Usman Khan and Sharjeel added late runs. Despite a competitive total, fielding lapses and Sultans’ aggressive batting proved decisive.

During the chase, missed chances by Kingsmen, including drops of Farhan and Shan Masood, allowed Sultans to consolidate. Farhan attacked Marnus Labuschagne for 21 runs in a single over, effectively putting the match out of reach. He guided the innings calmly, finishing the chase with eight balls to spare.
