PM Shehbaz directs Gulf embassies to aid Pakistanis

Published on: March 5, 2026 8:16 PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed Pakistani embassies in Gulf countries to assist citizens amid rising regional tensions. The move aims to ensure support for Pakistanis affected by instability linked to the Middle East conflict. Authorities are also working to evacuate Pakistani nationals currently stranded in Iran.

The prime minister issued the directive while chairing a meeting on evacuation efforts and overseas Pakistani welfare. Officials briefed him on the ongoing process of bringing Pakistani citizens safely back home. Participants said the Pakistani Embassy in Azerbaijan is actively facilitating evacuation from Iran.
