The Beaconhouse International Student Convention was held in Malaysia this February, bringing together students from Beaconhouse schools in Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and the UAE. Over two days in Kuala Lumpur, students competed and collaborated through a shared international forum that reflects the global footprint of the Beaconhouse network.
Held under the theme Global Connections for Common Goals, the convention challenged students to think and perform beyond borders. Discussions ranged from climate responsibility to digital equity and cultural understanding, with cooperation across differences and disciplines at the core of each engagement. Students engaged across four arenas: Sports, Creative, Knowledge, and Gaming.
The introduction of debating strengthened the intellectual dimension of the convention, while SparkTank@BISC translated the theme into action. Students from the six countries participated in four pre-event mentoring sessions led by Beaconhouse-Yamsaard Thailand, forming cross-border teams to develop joint entrepreneurial ventures before meeting in person for the first time in Kuala Lumpur, where they finalised their ideas and pitched to a panel of distinguished judges.
Competition remained spirited throughout. Pakistan was named overall BISC Champion 2026, with Malaysia securing the runner-up position. The Philippines retained the BISC Icon title for the third consecutive year, serving as a testament to sustained excellence across the convention’s competitive pillars. In swimming, multiple records were broken in both girls’ and boys’ events, underscoring the high level of preparation and performance that students brought to Kuala Lumpur.
Now in its tenth year, BISC continues to bring together students from across six countries in a setting that combines excellence, exchange, and global engagement, together forming the foundation for lifelong connections.
