Lyrics Pronunciation provides a phonetic guide to help users sing accurately, even if they don’t speak the language. Meanwhile, Lyric Translations offer line-by-line interpretations, giving listeners insight into the song’s meaning and helping them connect with the artist’s message.

To access these features, users should first open Apple Music on an iPhone or iPad and play a song. Tap the player bar at the bottom to enter the Now Playing screen, then tap the Lyrics button, represented by a quotation mark inside a speech bubble. Most popular songs now support time-synced lyrics, scrolling automatically or in “Sing” mode for karaoke-style pacing.
Once the lyrics are displayed, users can access the phonetic guide or translations. Pronunciation guides appear underneath the standard lyrics when available. To switch to translations, tap the Translation button (often an icon of a character or globe) on the left side of the screen and select Show Translation. Users can toggle back and forth between the phonetic guide and translations to practice singing or read the lyrics’ meaning.
It is important to note that Lyrics Pronunciation and Translations are only available on iPhone and iPad, and not supported on Apple TV or the macOS version of Apple Music. Availability also depends on the specific song and the Preferred Languages setting on the device.
