The ongoing Punjab Police operation against hardened criminals in the Katcha areas of Rajanpur achieved another major breakthrough as 24 more highly wanted dacoits surrendered before law enforcement authorities, including notorious criminal Sadri Lund, who was carrying a head money of Rs 10 million. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the full-scale operation is underway in the Katcha Umrani, Sukhani, and Katcha Karachi areas, where police teams are taking decisive action against criminal gangs. Drone-assisted shelling of dacoits’ hideouts has created fear among criminal elements, compelling many to lay down their arms. The spokesperson said that, fearing elimination during the operation, 24 dangerous dacoits belonging to various gangs surrendered voluntarily. With the latest development, the total number of surrendered dacoits has reached 211. So far, six extremely dangerous criminals, each carrying a bounty of Rs 10 million, have surrendered. DPO Rajanpur Muhammad Imran said the surrendered dacoits were wanted in dozens of cases involving kidnapping for ransom, murder, armed robbery, and other heinous crimes. IGP Dr Usman Anwar praised the performance of Rajanpur Police for their effective action against Katcha criminals and directed that the operation be pursued with sustained momentum and enhanced effectiveness to completely eliminate criminal networks from the area.
