Big reveals from Xbox Developer Direct 2026

Microsoft kicked off 2026 with its highly anticipated Xbox Developer Direct, unveiling some of the biggest upcoming games for consoles and PC. Following last year’s highlights, including Doom: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, this year’s showcase promises an exciting lineup for gamers worldwide.

The spotlight is on three major titles: Forza Horizon 6, the long-awaited fantasy RPG Fable, and Beast of Reincarnation. Forza Horizon 6, developed by Playground Games, continues the franchise’s legacy of open-world racing, though Microsoft has not yet announced a firm release date.

Beast of Reincarnation, created by Pokémon developer Game Freak, is set for a summer 2026 release and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5. The action-packed title promises innovative gameplay, combining familiar mechanics with new combat and exploration features.

Fans of imaginative adventure can also look forward to Kiln, developed by Double Fine Productions, slated for spring 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Meanwhile, Playground Games’ Fable is scheduled for a fall 2026 release, marking the return of the beloved fantasy RPG series.

The Xbox Developer Direct streamed on January 22, offering fans live news, gameplay previews, and insights from the development teams behind these highly anticipated titles. Gamers were able to watch the event on YouTube at 1:00 p.m. ET, providing an early look at the games set to define 2026.
