
The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a resolution urging Israel to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid in Gaza.
The resolution also called on Israel to respect UN facilities and adhere to international law in occupied territories.
Tabled by Norway and supported by over a dozen countries, the resolution received backing from 139 member states.

Only 12 countries, including Israel and the United States, voted against it, while 19 nations abstained from voting.
The vote follows an October advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice outlining Israel’s legal obligations as an occupying power.
Norway’s UN representative cited recent attacks, including entry into UNRWA facilities, as evidence that civilians face extreme hardship.
UNRWA officials and Palestinian leaders welcomed the resolution, while the US criticized it as unfairly targeting Israel’s actions.
