Pakistan fall 3-2 to Argentina in thrilling Pro League clash

Pakistan showed fight but fell short as Argentina edged them 3-2 in a high-intensity FIH Pro League match in Santiago. The visitors dominated early, pressing hard and creating scoring chances, yet Argentina held their nerve. The contest kept fans on edge until the final whistle.

Pakistan started strongly, with Waheed Ashraf Rana testing goalkeeper Tomas Santiago twice. Argentina struggled with early penalty corners, but Thomas Habif and Ignacio Nardolillo combined to open the scoring. Argentina led 1-0 at halftime after a well-crafted goal by Tomas Domene.

The third quarter exploded into action as Mohammad Ammad equalized for Pakistan with a deft finish. Argentina quickly regained the lead through Nicolás della Torre and extended it to 3-1 via Maico Casella. Pakistan hit back with Waleed Rana’s late strike to make it 3-2.

In the final quarter, Pakistan pressed hard for an equalizer, generating multiple chances. However, Argentina’s defensive discipline and experience kept them at bay, ensuring the hosts sealed the victory. Thomas Habif earned Player-of-the-Match honors for his pivotal performance.

Despite the loss, Pakistan displayed resilience and attacking flair. Analysts believe the team can build on this strong showing ahead of upcoming Pro League fixtures.
