Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has urged the international community to pressure Israel into honoring the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which he said remains heavily one-sided due to ongoing violations. He emphasized that Israeli forces continue targeting Palestinians, including children, despite the formal ceasefire in place since October 10.
He noted that at least 352 Palestinians have been killed after the ceasefire began, while more than 70,000 people in Gaza have lost their lives since the war started. He added that these numbers highlight the worsening humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for global intervention to stop further bloodshed.

Moreover, Asif stated that the agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh aimed to reduce tensions and stabilize the region. However, he stressed that Israel’s continuous attacks raise serious concerns about its commitment to the terms agreed upon during the negotiations.
He also wrote that Amnesty International has warned that Israel’s acts of genocide have not stopped, urging Western governments to apply greater pressure for compliance with international law. He said these global voices reflect widespread alarm over the deteriorating situation.

Additionally, Asif mentioned that Muslim countries involved in supporting the agreement — including Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar — may need to reassess their position due to the continuing violence. He pointed out that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has already voiced serious concerns over the developments.
