Four dacoits were shot dead during a police encounter in Peshawar on Saturday. The shootout, led by the Peshawar city police chief, took place in the Mera Kachori area near Chamkani in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital. The dacoits have been active in teh area for the last 20 years. Reportedly, a police team was sent after receiving credible information about the presence of some notorious dacoits in the area. CCPO Dr Mian Saeed Khan, who led the operation, said that all the dacoits were involved in serious cases. He revealed that all the dead were involved in committing crimes while wearing the police uniform.
