An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday sent eight workers of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to jail for an identification parade in cases related to attacks on police officials and incidents of arson and rioting. ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the hearing on the police’s request and directed that the identification process be completed by November 5. The detained suspects were produced in court with their faces covered. The arrested individuals include Hafiz Basharat Ali, Muhammad Ashfaq, Aurangzeb, Umar Riaz, Muqaddam Ali, Khurram Shehzad, and Ali Hassan, among others. Police alleged that the suspects were involved in assaults on law enforcement personnel and acts of arson.
ATC extends Fawad Chaudhry’s bail in five May 9 cases
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the interim bail of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry until November 28 in five separate cases pertaining to May-9 violence. ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings, during which Fawad Chaudhry appeared before the court to mark his attendance. The court also sought arguments from his counsel on the bail petitions at the next hearing.
