A Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court (ATC) has ordered authorities to block the passport and national identity card of Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan. The court took the action after she failed to appear for hearings, despite multiple non-bailable arrest warrants being issued and executed against her.
During Friday’s hearing, ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah remarked that “Aleema is present everywhere but doesn’t appear before the court.” The judge directed the Nadra and Passports Director Generals to block her identification documents. The court also ordered the State Bank to freeze all her bank accounts and forfeited her guarantor’s property to the state. The hearing was adjourned until October 27.

The case stems from the November 26 protest organized by PTI last year in Islamabad, which saw thousands of supporters clash with security forces despite a government ban on public gatherings. The protest ended after violent confrontations in the capital’s Red Zone, leading to the registration of several terrorism and criminal cases against PTI leaders under the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Aleema Khan, along with 10 others, is a suspect in a case registered at the Sadiqabad police station. The Rawalpindi ATC has issued at least four arrest warrants against her for repeatedly skipping hearings. On October 22, police presented the latest warrant before the Islamabad High Court and obtained her signature, confirming its execution.

Earlier, the court criticized police officers for submitting false reports claiming Aleema was in hiding, despite her media appearances outside Adiala Jail. The ATC has repeatedly denied her counsel’s requests for exemption, insisting she must face criminal charges related to the protest. The case will continue later this month as the court seeks to ensure her attendance.
