‘Jama Taqseem’ Episode Shocks Viewers With Harrowing Portrayal of Abuse Within Families

Published on: October 10, 2025 12:18 PM

'Jama Taqseem's episode on joint family abuse leaves viewers emotional

KARACHI – The hit drama Jama Taqseem has taken a deeply emotional and unsettling turn, leaving audiences shaken and reflective after its latest episode tackled the issue of harassment within a joint family household. Originally centred on a young bride’s journey of adjustment and resilience, the story has evolved into a powerful social commentary that exposes the darker realities of family dynamics.

Starring Mawra Hocane and Talha Chahour as Laila and Qais, the drama reached a breaking point when Sidra, a young girl in the household, became the target of her cousin Zeeshan’s predatory behaviour.
The tension built over several weeks culminated in a shocking attempted assault scene, interrupted just in time by Qais.

The sequence was hailed as one of the most emotional and realistic portrayals of abuse on Pakistani television, sparking widespread reaction on social media. “Such a gut-wrenching episode! My heart goes out to all the girls who suffer in silence,” one viewer wrote. Another commented, “This drama shows how mothers, buried in stress, sometimes miss the signs of their children’s pain.”

The episode prompted conversations about how silence, disbelief, and cultural stigma allow abuse to persist within families. Many pointed out that Sidra’s earlier attempt to confide in her mother was ignored — a heartbreaking reality mirrored in many households. “They’re really showing what happens when you don’t listen to your kids or notice their fears,” one fan noted.

Audiences also praised the emotional depth of Sidra’s mother’s breakdown scene, which left many viewers in tears. Others urged the channel to include trigger warnings before airing such intense content, while some highlighted the drama’s courage in challenging societal biases that often protect perpetrators. “This scene reminds us that danger doesn’t always come from strangers; sometimes it hides behind familiar faces,” another user wrote. With its raw storytelling, emotional honesty, and social relevance, Jama Taqseem has transcended entertainment — becoming a wake-up call about the silence surrounding abuse within families.
