Dubai police issue strict rules for Pak-India final

Published on: September 28, 2025 3:49 PM

Dubai Police have issued a set of strict guidelines for fans ahead of the highly anticipated Asia Cup final between Pakistan and India. The advisory, released in Urdu, aims to ensure smooth crowd management and maximum safety during what is expected to be a historic and high-pressure clash at the Dubai International Stadium. Authorities have urged spectators to arrive at least three hours before the first ball, while stressing that each ticket will allow only one entry, with no re-entry permitted.

Fans have been strictly warned against carrying banned items into the stadium. Prohibited objects include fireworks, flammable materials, laser pointers, weapons, tripods, selfie sticks and glass objects, all of which could disrupt safety measures. Moreover, political banners and unauthorised placards will not be permitted inside, with officials reminding attendees that cooperation is vital to maintaining a festive yet secure atmosphere for the final showdown.

The demand for tickets has been unprecedented, as organisers confirmed that all 28,000 seats at the venue have sold out well in advance. The announcement of a “house full” stadium underscores the unmatched excitement for the first-ever Asia Cup title decider between Pakistan and India. Earlier in the tournament, 20,000 fans packed the group stage clash on September 14, while 17,000 turned up for the Super Four encounter on September 21, both of which broke crowd records at the venue.

The atmosphere for Sunday’s final is expected to surpass those earlier matches, with cricket lovers from across the globe converging on Dubai. The significance of this contest lies not only in the long-standing rivalry but also in the fact that it will mark the first time the two sides face each other in an Asia Cup final, making the event a once-in-a-generation spectacle.

Pakistan booked their place in the final after overcoming Bangladesh by 11 runs in a tense Super Four clash on September 25, while India reached the final unbeaten, having already defeated Pakistan twice in the tournament. With top-ranked stars like opener Abhishek Sharma and spinner Varun Chakravarthy leading India, and Pakistan determined to reclaim their title glory after 2016, the stage is set for a clash that promises drama, intensity and unforgettable memories.
