33 killed as Israel opens Gaza evacuation route

Published on: September 17, 2025 5:16 PM

Since early morning, Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed at least 33 Palestinians. Among the victims are a child and his mother, who died in a bombing at a refugee camp. The violence has intensified despite global condemnation, including a UN commission accusing Israel of genocide. Israeli forces have launched a major ground offensive to take control of Gaza City’s central areas.

In response, Israel has opened a temporary evacuation route through Salahuddin Street. The route will remain open for 48 hours to allow civilians to leave. This move comes as tanks, jets, and armored vehicles continue their assault, increasing the destruction of homes and infrastructure. The Israeli military expects the operation to take several months.

The UN report blaming Israel has been strongly rejected by Israeli officials, calling it false and misleading. Meanwhile, China and Qatar have condemned the Israeli attacks. China described the strikes as violations of international law, and Qatar called them a continuation of genocidal warfare against Palestinians.

Aid organizations have urged the international community to take stronger action. They warn the situation is an unprecedented humanitarian disaster and call for urgent political, economic, and legal interventions. More than 20 aid groups, including Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council, signed a joint statement demanding decisive measures to stop the violence.

Since October 2023, Israeli assaults have killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians and wounded over 165,000. Thousands remain trapped under rubble, while regional tensions continue to rise. The conflict shows no signs of abating as Gaza’s civilian population faces growing danger.
