Pakistan and Hong Kong signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Wednesday to strengthen legal ties. The MoC was signed during the 10th Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong. Federal Secretary Raja Naeem Akbar and Hong Kong’s Secretary for Justice Paul T.K. signed the agreement. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in legal affairs and capacity building. They also plan to promote arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

Furthermore, the MoC covers new areas like digital governance and virtual asset regulation. Akbar said the deal shows Pakistan’s commitment to modernizing its legal system. He added it will deepen cross-border partnerships under the Belt and Road Initiative. The cooperation aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and support institutional reforms. The agreement marks a new chapter in Pakistan-Hong Kong relations in justice and legal reform. Both parties will launch joint initiatives and capacity-building programs. They want to address the fast-changing global legal environment together. This cooperation will help both sides adapt to emerging legal trends. It also aims to improve governance in important sectors like finance and technology.

Moreover, the MoC aims to strengthen Pakistan’s position in regional and global legal matters. It offers opportunities for experts to share best practices and expertise. The partnership is expected to boost trust and transparency in legal processes. Both Pakistan and Hong Kong will benefit from this collaborative approach. It will also encourage smoother dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.

In conclusion, the MoC signing at the Belt and Road Summit reflects strong commitment to justice reform. Pakistan and Hong Kong are moving forward with deeper legal cooperation.
