Imran Khan and allies seek chaos, not politics: Rana Sanaullah

Published on: September 9, 2025 4:50 PM

Rana Sanaullah, Prime Minister’s Political Advisor, accused Imran Khan and some of his associates of wanting chaos, not politics in Pakistan. He said this during a media talk in Lahore, adding that their boycott is an escape route, not a political stance. According to him, PTI lacks trust in its own members and has adopted a culture of insults and conflict.

Sanaullah claimed that 10 to 12 PTI members voted for him without his outreach; they contacted him first. He advised them to vote for their own party candidates instead. He said Imran Khan is likely the first leader in history to make insults a formal policy. Sanaullah noted that Khan refused to meet opposition leaders during his tenure, despite the Prime Minister’s repeated offers for dialogue and unity.

The advisor stressed that Imran Khan and a few others do not want to engage in normal politics. Instead, they aim to create disorder, unrest, and division across the country. He called their behavior unpolitical and damaging to national harmony. Sanaullah further criticized PTI for forcing its members to label opponents as thieves and refusing to engage in constructive talks when in power.

Sanaullah urged the nation to strongly oppose Imran Khan’s disruptive tactics. He also clarified that the government has never compromised on Imran Khan’s jail conditions or security. Moreover, he condemned the incident involving Aleema Khan and emphasized the importance of protecting all political figures.

In conclusion, Rana Sanaullah urged PTI to adopt a political mindset based on dialogue and cooperation. He praised the Prime Minister for personally reaching out to the opposition three times. Sanaullah said democracy cannot progress through deadlocks and called for peaceful political engagement for the nation’s stability.
