A Serene Air flight traveling from Jeddah to Lahore made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport after a sudden technical fault was detected mid-air. Over 200 passengers, mostly Umrah pilgrims, were onboard during the incident.
Aviation sources reported that the pilot immediately contacted Karachi Air Traffic Control and requested permission for an emergency landing upon noticing the issue. The captain skillfully managed to bring the aircraft down safely, preventing any injuries or further complications.
Officials said the emergency landing was executed smoothly, and all passengers were safely disembarked. Airport authorities assisted in controlling the situation and ensuring that the plane was securely parked for inspection and repair.
Upon examination, Serene Air engineers discovered fuel leakage in the aircraft, which prompted a more detailed technical assessment. The issue was reported to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which has already launched an official inquiry into the incident.
CAA inspectors are coordinating with Serene Air staff to identify the exact cause of the technical fault. Engineers have begun necessary repairs to restore the aircraft’s full functionality before it resumes scheduled flights to Lahore.
Passengers praised the professionalism of the flight crew for handling the emergency calmly and efficiently. Authorities emphasized that safety protocols worked effectively, highlighting the importance of proper training and timely response during in-flight emergencies.
