Gandhi’s revelations point to state-engineered electoral fraud on a scale that fundamentally delegitimizes the so-called “world’s largest democracy.”

Narendra Modi’s popularity has witnessed a sharp decline within India after the flop Operation Sindoor. Public trust in his leadership has significantly eroded, and Indian security agencies are now allegedly working to keep Modi in power through electoral fraud manifested with fake votes. Congress believes that BJP’s playbook for the Bihar elections comprises the same pattern: one, misuse of state machinery; two, targeted crackdown on opposition parties; three, interference in the electoral process and manipulation of voter rolls.
A data-backed investigation by the Congress Party has revealed five systemic manipulations that expose India’s descent into electoral authoritarianism under Modi’s watch. First, 11,965 individuals were registered multiple times across different polling booths – and even across different states, including Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Some names appeared four times in Mahadevapura alone, making a mockery of voter ID integrity. Second, over forty thousand addresses listed as “0,” nonexistent homes, or gibberish-filled entries in father/mother name fields allowed untraceable identities registered as legitimate votes. Third, 10,452 entries reflected mass voters at single addresses. In one glaring example, 80 voters were registered at a one-room house. In another surprising entry, 68 voters were registered at a brewery instead of a home, which falls in the category of commercial space. This was not a clerical error but engineered demographic inflation. Fourth, over four thousand voter ID cards were issued with tampered, blurred photos, thereby failing any mechanism for visual verification at booths. Fifth, 33,692 cases were detected for intentional misuse of Form 6, which is meant for first-time youth voters. This form was fraudulently used to register individuals aged 60-90 years, including cases of elderly citizens voting twice in different booths.
This wasn’t incompetence – it was a deliberate demographic data distortion. As per Congress’ claims, this rigging pattern is being followed across India, where the election watchdog (ECI) stands out as an accomplice with the beneficiary BJP. Rahul Gandhi has not merely raised allegations; he has presented forensic-level evidence of electoral engineering. The election heist of Modi is a deep dent to his political legacy as well as to the democratic credentials of India.
