Iran calls Shehbaz’s hospitality historic

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s hospitality during the recent high-level Iranian visit. He said the Iranian leadership considered the welcome historic and unforgettable. The visit included Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and a senior delegation. The ambassador expressed his gratitude through a public message on social media platform X. He highlighted Pakistan’s warmth, generosity, and commitment to strong bilateral ties.

During the visit, President Asif Ali Zardari also hosted the Iranian delegation at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. The ambassador thanked President Zardari for his warm reception and cooperation. He also appreciated the presence of Field Marshal General Asim Munir. According to the ambassador, General Munir’s respectful presence added to the visit’s success. The high-level engagements helped build trust between the two nations.

In Lahore, Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz hosted the delegation with great warmth. The ambassador specifically thanked them for their efforts. He called Lahore’s welcome both historic and heartfelt. He also praised Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Dar and his team played a major role in planning and coordination. Their professional work ensured the smooth execution of the visit.

The ambassador also acknowledged several Pakistani leaders who helped finalize 12 key agreements. These included Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Khawaja Asif, Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Raza Hayat Harraj, and Attaullah Tarar. According to him, these leaders worked sincerely to boost bilateral relations. The agreements covered trade, infrastructure, and cultural cooperation. Both nations signed multiple MoUs to deepen cooperation across sectors.

Looking ahead, both sides reaffirmed their shared vision of reaching $10 billion in trade. The ambassador said this goal showed the strong will of both countries. He pledged to work hard with his embassy team to make this vision real. He also praised the deep, cultural, and strategic ties between Pakistan and Iran. Overall, he called the visit a turning point in regional diplomacy.
