KARACHI – Police investigating the mysterious death of actor Humaira Asghar Ali have found that she last used her mobile phone on October 7, 2024, at around 5pm. Authorities believe she likely died on the same day, based on forensic and phone data.
Her decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, inside a flat in Ittehad Commercial, Defence. A court bailiff entered the apartment following a landlord’s complaint about unpaid rent and found her remains inside.
During the investigation, police recovered three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and several documents from the apartment. According to officials, Humaira contacted 14 different people on the day she was last active. All three phones had SIM cards registered in her name.
Notably, two of the three phones were unlocked, which made digital forensic analysis easier. Investigators found over 2,000 saved contacts on her phones, along with regular communication with at least 75 different numbers over a long period.
Preliminary post-mortem findings confirmed that the body had reached an advanced stage of decomposition. This supports the theory that Humaira died approximately eight months ago, consistent with the last activity recorded on her phone.
Authorities are now focusing on the people she last contacted to uncover more about the circumstances of her death. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be shared soon.
