ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Turkiye have jointly called for an immediate halt to Israel’s aggressive military actions against Iran, Palestine, and other regional countries, warning of serious global consequences if tensions escalate further.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the crisis over a phone call on Saturday. Both leaders strongly condemned Israel’s attacks, calling them a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and a threat to international peace and stability.
The two leaders agreed that Israel’s strikes are a blatant breach of the UN Charter and international law. They emphasized that the international community must act urgently to stop the violence and prevent a wider conflict in the Middle East.
They also condemned Israel’s continued aggression against Palestinians, stressing that the oppression of the Palestinian people must end. Both leaders urged the United Nations to play a more active and united role in addressing the crisis.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and said the country would continue to support diplomatic efforts through the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He added that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would represent Pakistan at the upcoming OIC meeting in Istanbul.
President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz agreed to stay in close contact and coordinate their diplomatic efforts. They also exchanged updates on their countries’ regional outreach and pledged to support all initiatives promoting peace and stability.
